Our friends at Whelmed Records have been around for about a year now, and as gift to those who have supported them, they are putting out a special holiday release. It will be a split between Holy Fawn and Gauntly, and today we are bringing you an exclusive play of Gauntly’s contribution, ‘I Thought About This Not A Lot’.
“This song is a very vague description of a very specific feeling,” says Gauntly of the track. “It’s about recognizing certain cycles you keep putting yourself through because they’re comfortable and familiar even though you know it’s detrimental. Or something like that.”Holy Fawn was an awesome surprise from Whelmed. I checked them out when they announced they were joining the roster and they’re awesome. Love that this split came together over Twitter. This is one of my favourite Gauntly songs so far and I’m stoked it’s being released in this split.
“2016 was a shit year for pretty much everything but a silver lining has been working with the Whelmed crew,” continues Gauntly, reflecting on the past 12 months. “It’s been really inspiring and encouraging working with people that want to make a difference by helping share your art. Incredibly excited to work on more new things again soon!”
