Listen to colourful grunge on Autumn Diet Plans’s new EP

By Ben Tipple

Heavily influenced by 90s grunge, Midlands based Autumn Diet Plans self-identify as spacerock and shoegaze.

“We like to run around and jump and throw guitars around when we play live, either that, or bully Wes our drummer,” they say, shortly after listing a number of bands from which they draw influence; The Smashing Pumpkins, Alice In Chains, Failure and Hum taking prime positions.

It’s an influence evident on ‘Red/Yellow’, the band’s brand new EP. Foreboding and fuzzy, with a tracklisting that reads like a show-and-tell hosted in the band’s kitchen.

The 12″ will follow the cassette and digital release (16th January), due on Leeds based Flat Four Records in the next couple of months. Autumn Diet Plans will also be touring extensively, starting with a weekender in March alongside Mannequin. Both bands will also be heading into mainland Europe in August.

That’s not all. “We also have much more to come, merch, music video, (which is being edited as we speak), and other top secret newsโ€ฆ,” Autumn Diet Plans tease.
