Donning an Apologies, I Have None t-shirt and standing firm in a white room, Larkhill vocalist Misael Trujillo sings his way through new track ‘Grossed Out’ while being pelted with flour, eggs, a dirty pint and an inflatable crocodile. It’s all part of Larkhill’s refreshed dedication to doing their own thing, and having as much fun as possible on the way.
‘Grossed Out’ is taken from the band’s forthcoming split with Brighton’s equally excellent duo H_ngm_n, the accompanying clip welcoming drummer Daryl Buss and guitarist Jacob Kinsella into the Larkhill family.
“The songs on this split are all about getting comfortable in your own skin,” Trujillo explains, “when you realise that it’s more important to be true to yourself than to live up to others expectations, it’s not something that comes naturally and it often feels wrong but the outcome is often great. The same goes for being in a band, we have definitely started having a lot more fun and success since we have started writing the music that comes naturally to us, as opposed to trying to fit our sound to specific fads.”
The four-track split EP will be available via No Panic Records! in Europe and Local Colour Records in the UK.
