We Are Fiction could very well be the next UK band to join the likes of Young Guns and Deaf Havana to make it big. Their style is extremely distinct with intertwining vocals, but unlike other bands who employ a clean/aggresive vocal combination, you can’t really accuse them of sounding like anybody else. The music is atmospheric, and will have you fist pumping and nodding your head in no time. They have a rising profile – having just released the video for their song “Earth Medicine,” and they’ll be heading out on tour with fellow PT favourites Our Time Down Here later on this week. Mark our words, with a bit of luck you’ll see a lot more of this band in the next year or so, so get listening now, you won’t regret it.

Below is a stream of their song, “Earth Medicine” and an interview with the band.

Hey guys, first of all can we get a run down of who We Are Fiction is and what type of music you play?

We are a five piece from Peterborough, we play rock music.

Tell me a bit behind We Are Fiction, how did you guys come together?

We met a number of years ago, we started a band for fun and haven’t stopped having fun since. We met through our shared love for creativity and partying. Mix the two together and youve pretty much got We Are Fiction covered.

You release your new video today! are you excited to finally get that out there and push on with the single release?

We are, very much so! ‘Earth Medicine’ for us shows off a side to our forthcoming album which hasnt been touched on yet with the release of our first two singles ‘My Dreams Are Haunted’ and ‘Sail On’. We felt it was an important song to get out there and show a different side to our creativeness. We also had the chance to use brand new technology lasers in the music video which have never been used before, filming our videos entirely ourselves its a massive priviledge to be able to get our hands on stuff like this and be able to share a story through video as well as music.

You also go out on tour with Our Time Down Here on Friday, I think you both have fairly different styles so how did that one come about?

This tour was offered to us by ‘Make A Scene Festival’ [30th June Teeside Uni, Middlesborough] along with ‘Hey Alaska’, it should be a good one We are fans of both bands playing the tour with us, i believe we even sold our previous van to ‘OTDH’!

Going into the rest of the year now, what plans do you guys have?

We have plans to play as many shows as possible, finalise the debut album which is coming closer and closer to release and start work on some even newer material which is already sounding bang on.

If you can name one, what would you say is the single highlight of being in We Are Fiction so far?

I couldnt name one particular highlight, there have been so many. However, every moment a song first gets written, every time we first hear that song in the studio, every time we first watch a video we’ve spent months working on and everytime we step out on stage and play our music to the people we love. Each of these moments is particularly special.

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

I guess this is the part i mention about our tour starting Saturday 30th with ‘Make A Scene Festival’ check for dates near you on our Facebook page. Also, a massive shout out is needed for everyone supporting us and particularly the release of this single, huge thanks to all our friends, family and fans for every part of your help.
