Utilising the earnest sincere pop infused rock that made people fall in love with Weezer, Hot Shorts have revealed a video for their new song, ‘You Left Me in the Disco’, exclusively for Punktastic.
The song itself is taken from the Manchester band’s upcoming self titled debut album, which will be available on the 18th November via Super Smash Hit Records. Lead vocalist/guitarist Chris Killen had the following to say about the band’s playful video:
“With only 5 days and a shoestring £40,000 budget, we knew that the video shoot for ‘You Left Me in the Disco’ would be tight. But luckily we had an ace up our sleeve, in the form of ‘Manchester dancing legend’ Amy Durrant. Known for her unique style and maverick disregard for tradition, Durrant’s choreography made sense to us, and after only four days and roughly 1,500 takes, we finally captured gold.”
Hot Shorts’ self-titled debut album is available to pre-order at Super Smash Hit Records, with a release due for the 18th November. The band have a few upcoming shows, including an album launch show at The Star and Garter in Manchester on the same day. Tickets for that are available at the following link.
