As Norwegian post-punk collective Heyerdahl get ready to release their new album, ‘A Su Can Panther’, we are bringing you the first play of their excellent new single, ‘Wild Life’
“Wild life was is based on a demo i made on one of almost 50 music apps on my iPad that i never use, explains Kenneth Ishak from Heyerdahl. “I was going through the the different programs and found this strange sounding loop, sounded like early Michael Jackson covering Joy Division. I took the track to the studio and started layering stuff on top of it and it was just alot of fun.
“It sounded kinda wild and i was drinking alot of rum when I had a rant of drumming, guitar playing, and funky piano playing myself. Who knew I could enjoy, or even justify a funky piano like that, but it worked. I finished the night of singing a guide where i made up alot of the lyrics as i sang. Then the other guys added some stuff here and there and it was pretty much done. I think the song celebrates the album character becoming the creature he needs to be in his new environment. It has a morbid party vibe, like Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller'”
‘A Su Can Panther’ is released on November 25th via SellOut! Music.Â
