Mariachi, abandoned churches and basement shows; all just in a day’s work for Rochester, New York four-piece California Cousins. Having recently hit the road in support of their self-released ‘George’s Bridge’ EP, heading from their hometown to Nashville and back, the indie-punks band documented some of their antics.
Soundtracked by the brilliant ‘Your Kitchen Floor’, the video offers both a bleak and uplifting glimpse into touring, seeing California Cousins venture through abandoned churches and mills, messing around in empty venues and playing to crowds in basements. All the while, the whimsical atmosphere is reflected in the accompanying track.
“The run was pretty saturated with adventure– we explored an abandoned grain mill and school in Columbus, an abandoned church in Cincinnati and did a tour of a massive cave in Kentucky,” the band sum up their adventure. “Our down time that week was honestly everything we could’ve hoped for.”
‘George’s Bridge’ is available now both physically and digitally.
