‘Missing’ is the second track to emerge out of Matt Mascarenas Scattered Moments series. Built around inspiration, it sees the Heartless Breakers and Daytrader musician at his most impulsive. The compositions are spur of the moment, as he explained to Punktastic when revealing ‘Away‘ earlier in the year.
“I write something every time I pick up my guitar and often times, those songs only exists for that moment before the next distraction takes over,” he explained. “I’ve decided to begin recording and releasing these songs that won’t ever end up on proper release, simply because they happened.”
‘Missing’ further showcases the beauty in both Westing’s compositions and delivery. The understated vocals sit behind the wispy guitar tones, forming music to truly lose yourself to. “This one recognizes the complexity of day-to-day communication and the effects it has on us,” Mascarenas explains.
