First play of the new Undo single, ‘Scarlet’

By Glen Bushell

As Scottish rock band Undo prepares to release their debut album later this year, they have been making a name for themselves in the run up to it. Today we are bringing you an exclusive listen to their excellent new track, ‘Scarlet’.

“’Scarlet’ was one of the last songs we wrote for our debut album,” says vocalist/guitarist, Iain Bethel. “To me its a punk rock song with a lot of Pavement influence in it. It’s also one of the songs that our guitarist, Alan Rodrigues, provided most of the music for.

“Lyrically, its about a feeling that you cant get rid of. It keeps coming back until it consumes you. Day to day life, jobs, struggling to do things without being consumed by terrible feelings. “I caught it today, my sulphur memory’ the final chorus, is a cathartic release of all these feelings.”

The debut album from Undo is due for release in November, and the band have a handful of shows at the end of this month to promote their recent split 7” release with Jutland Songs, which you can listen to on Bandcamp. You can see the dates for the shows below.
