First play of Naked Hour’s excellent new track, ‘Crossfade’

By Ben Tipple

‘Crossfade’, taken from Naked Hour’s forthcoming ‘Always On The Weekend’ mini-album, is minimalism at its best. Built around an insatiably catchy hook, it’s as whimsical as it is heavy. Bouncing from vocalist Teal Bluestone’s mesmerising twists to increasingly thunderous guitar work, the track journeys from the understated to the assertive over the course of three minutes. It’s a considerable step forward from their bass-and-drum only ‘Long Run’ EP, but one that keeps hold of their exciting experimental beginnings. Naked Hour are certainly worth keeping an ear out for over the coming months.

‘Always On The Weekend’ will be available from the 24th June 2016 via Good Cheer Records.
