Drones return with ‘From Birth To Grave’

By Ben Tipple

Camberley punk outfit Drones are the first to admit they’ve been away for some time. Despite the occasional tour, it’s been a long time since the four-piece released any new material; a time spent developing their sound.

What had previously at times been dominated by hardcore tendencies finds melody on ‘From Birth To Grave’. Aligning the two, their brand new track switches between melodic punk and its heavier counterpart, tantalisingly verging on a breakdown but deliberately steering clear. Heavier than pop-punk in its approach, it sees Drones nestle further into their own style.

“‘From Birth To Grave’ marks a fresh new leaf in the Drones camp,” the band adds. “We’ve been quiet for a while writing behind the scenes and we’re finally ready to reveal some new music. The song is about how some people deliberately blinker themselves from the issues in society around them, and we’re here to address that.”

The track will be available via Lockjaw Records from the 30th October 2015, with Drones taking to Camden’s Barfly that same evening for a special release show.
