Grave School’s self-titled EP, released earlier this year, draws heavily on the 90s influence of bands such as Pixies, Weezer, and The Rocking Horse Winner. Simple, fuzz-laden riffs cruise through each composition, picking up elements of surf-rock and bright pop hooks along way. They provide a rigid backbone for the heart-on-sleeve tales told during stand out tracks, ‘Clutch’ and ‘Eugene, OR’.
Grave School’s EP is one of the strongest debuts I have heard in a long time, and surely a sign of great things to come from the Los Angeles natives.
