Not only are plans afoot for a Weezer DVD, but frontman Rivers Cuomo is taking a holiday to catch himself some World Cup action!
The official Weezer website, www.weezer.com states that the band are currently holed up in a Tokyo recording studio, after which Rivers will watch some football!
Known to be a bit of a fan, it’s expected that the rest of the band will fly home to LA whilst Rivers stays in Tokyo. Upon his return the band will embark on a massive US tour in July, where they will have the likes of Dashboard Confessional, Sparta and The Strokes in tow. Of course they are also pencilled in to play the Reading and Leeds festivals.
The website also suggests that a Weezer DVD is in the works and could be released by the end of the year. However, the site does add that all details are subject to change…
