Tigercub sign to Venn Records for new EP

By Ben Tipple

Brighton 3-piece Tigercub have joined the Venn Records family for the release of their ‘Repressed Semantics’ EP. The record is scheduled for vinyl release towards the end of November, complete with an exclusive zine.

“Tigercub continuously release the best new music and I’m so thankful that Venn Records will play a big part in getting their new EP out there – sharp vocals, mammoth riffs and as always way cooler than anything else,” Venn Records boss and Gallows member Laurent ‘Lags’ Barnard said of the signing.

“In June 2015 we went into Brighton Electric Studios to record seven songs that would make up an AA side single and an E.P – we wanted the recordings to reflect where we are as a band and as songwriters right now,” Tigercub open up about the five-track EP.

“We kept overdubs to a minimum and only recorded what we could pull off in the room. No shortcuts. ‘Repressed Semantics’ is a bi-polar mixture of songs that represent to us, a cocktail of aggression and restraint, bottled up frustration and an absolute rejection of ideals presented to us by a divorcee-generation of self medicated baby-boomers. The old rules no longer apply. You are your life and nothing else.”

“Venn as a label recognise and share our ethos and want to help nurture our growing identity, this makes them ideal partners for this EP,” Tigercub conclude.

Tigercub will be supporting the release with an extensive tour over the coming months.
