The Homeless Gospel Choir premiere ‘Black Friday’

By Ben Tipple

After showcasing ‘Untitled’ from his forthcoming album ‘I Used To Be So Young’, The Homeless Gospel Choir has now premiered the video for ‘Black Friday’ via PureVolume.

The track takes on extreme consumerism, accompanied by a video showing some of the negative effects of greed.

Derek Zanetti, the sole force behind The Homeless Gospel Choir explained the creation of the track. “On Thanksgiving Weekend this year I was watching the news and there was a whole string of Holiday sales adds about the door busting savings, and early bird specials, and all the bells and whistles that come along with it,” he states. β€œIn between a constant bombardment of commercials, a news flash scrolled across the screen that said “Woman was trampled to death in a department store. Stay tuned to get the full scoop.” And without missing a beat the network went right back to holiday commercials, advertisements, and whatever bullshit they were being paid to advertise. I was so Utterly disgusted by what I had seen, I grabbed my notepad and pen and wrote what would become β€œBlack Friday.” I hope This video disturbs you as much as it disturbs me.”
