Pittsburgh’s excellent story-telling indie-punks The Homeless Gospel Choir will be releasing ‘I Used To Be So Young’ on the 15th July (US) via A-F Records.
“‘I Used To Be So Young’ is a record about the deteriorating mirage of “The American Dream”,” singer-songwriter and man behind THe Homless Gospel Choir, Derek Zanetti explains. “It talks about breaking out of the fear of not being “Normal” and that everyone grows old, but not everyone has to grow up. That traditional American values don’t apply to everyone. Not everyone is going to have a white picket fence, a 401k, and a college degree. That there is great adventure beyond the confines of safety and mediocrity. That you aren’t alone in feeling like you out of place. A lot of us feel out of place, and Punk Rock is the arena that we found to grow in our weirdness.”
The one man band, who will undoubtedly attract fans of the likes of The Front Bottoms and Allison Weiss, has premiered ‘Untitled’ from the LP via PunkNews.
