The first of our cool little announcements is that Punktastic is to have its own little club night! We’ve teamed up with the Fighting Cocks in Kingston in London to help co-ordinate a punk/ska/emo/alternative night for anyone who fancies a drink and meeting like-minded people. ‘Slak’ will run every two weeks, on a Saturday, and a band will also play once a month along with offers and giveaways and the like as time goes on. The first Slak night is on May 17 and The Foamers will play a live set. Sami of Jerry-Built will DJ all kinds of stuff from 70s rock like The Police, to modern day punk and emo. Entrance is £3 and doors are 8pm. Anyone who comes in with a flyer will also get a free shot. This isn’t something we’ve merely put our name to, we are having a hand in the playlist, co-ordinating the giveaways and attempting to spread the word. So many people moan that we don’t do anything in London – so here is your chance! Slak will be loads of fun and is the first of a few new things we have up our sleeves…
