A message from Luke Leighfield: “Hey guys, some of you may know that I play music as Simply Luke Leighfield (you can have a butchers at www.simplylukeleighfield.com and www.myspace.com/simplylukeleighfield for more details). Anyway, I’m releasing a Christmassy song as a single to raise money for Tearfund who are doing lots of AIDS work, and hoping to raise lots of money for them. Dave House has kindly knocked up some ace artwork, and I’m basically just burning loads and loads of them and photocopying the inlays to keep costs down. So where do you come in…If you’re a resourceful person, if you’re friendly, if you like helping, if you’re nice…etc…the challenge is thus:
Would you be willing to take a load of them and make your neighbours/schoolpals/uni friends/workmates/family buy them? If you think you’d be up for helping a good cause this Christmastide then get in touch. There are a few ways to help:
-Buy a load from me then sell them to make your money back (this is quite daring but not really that scary. How hard can it be to sell 20 cds?)
-Take a load from me and pay me the money back as you sell them (this is a bit more of a pain for me because I have to keep track of lots of money/cds but not everyone can commit to paying the money upfront)
-Go advertising crazy! Tell your local radio/newspaper/school/church about the cd and where they can buy it (the simply website innit)
-Bulletin your myspace friends (lolz)
Anyway, I’ve said enough. Most importantly the song itself will be online tomorrow, on the Simply purevolume and myspace. It is sufficiently cheesy and 80s influenced to constitute being a Christmas single. Even if you hate it, pretend you like it because it’s for a good cause. Just tell me privately that you hate it. I hope this all makes sense because I’m all hyped up and can’t think straight. Let the feedback commence!”
