San Diego’s Awesome Fest has announced its initial line-up, bringing together some of the most exciting DIY bands from the stateside scene. Gearing up for its tenth installment, the festival prides itself on its homegrown ethic, opting against any sort of corporate sponsorship. Instead it removes any segregation between the bands and welcomes input from local independent businesses. “Rules are mostly for cops and frat boys,” they note on their homepage, “however, Awesome Fest does have one: Don’t be an asshole.”
