Pussy Riot’s Tolokonnikova missing

By Ben Tipple

Pussy Riot’s Nadezhda Tolokonnikova has not been seen or heard by friends and family since being moved to a new prison late in October. The move followed a number of hunger strikes campaigning against the inhumane conditions of the penal colony in Mordovia.

Speaking to Buzzfeed, her husband Pyotr Verzilov admitted that he had not heard from Tolokonnikova since she was placed upon a train by guards on the 21st October. The last recorded sighting places her on a train in Chelyabinsk on the 24th October.

Tolokonnikova was imprisoned alongside a fellow band member for performing an anti-government protest song in public back in February 2012.
