Night Verses are streaming the nightmarish ‘Panic And Pull Your Heart Out’, taken from their forthcoming ‘Into The Vanishing Light’ LP.
“‘Panic And Pull Your Heart Out’ is a song about breaking through self-pity and finding your inner strength,” vocalist Doug Robinson explains. “Our producer, Ross Robinson, dissected the lyrical content and helped me realize that I was often writing on this sense of a “negative autopilot” that a lot of writers fall into. He helped resurrect me from that lyrical abyss and this song’s lyrics are the result of that resurrection; That’s why there’s mention of gravestones and being “underneath”. It was a way of expressing the clawing out and escaping self-pity with a positive fire.”
“I think my favorite line in the song would be, ‘Burning bones, we bathe in fire underneath the city streets.’ I really connected with that line when writing because it gave me such a strong visual of turning my own negativity into an explosive burst of positive energy. “Panic and Pull Your Heart” out refers to stopping at nothing to make that transition.”
The record is due for release on the 8th July. The band have already unveiled ‘A Dialogue In Cataplexy‘ and ‘Drift‘.
