Members of Bloodhound Gang face up to 5 years in Russian prison

By Ben Tipple

Russia has been proving reasonably troublesome for bands over the past year. Following the imprisonment of Pussy Riot for their alleged part in inciting violence (and the recent news that they will be moved to some of Russia’s harshest camps for the last few years of their sentence), Bloodhound Gang have equally found themselves on the wrong side of the Russian law.

“Evil” Jared Hasselhoff and frontman Jimmy Pop are currently under investigation by the aptly named Investigative Committee for inciting hatred in an organised group. They face a potential maximum sentence of five years behind bars.

The investigation follows bassist Hasselhoff (real name, Jared Hennegan) shoving a Russian flag down his trousers, while Jimmy Pop (real name, James Franks) allegedly insulted Russia at the Ukraine gig back in July.

This news follows Hennegan’s ban from entering the Ukraine for five years after urinating on the Ukrainian flag while on stage.
