London’s Shepherds Bush Empire is reportedly closed for the foreseeable future due to serious structural damage. The venue closed its doors on Friday, cancelling a scheduled gig by indie outfit The Courteeners. Although little information was available on the Empire’s official Facebook page other than the unfortunately cancellation, the band’s vocalist Liam Fray mentioned the apparent cause.
The health and safety risk has also caused other shows to be rescheduled or venues to change. Shepherds Bush Empire has since tweeted, “Afraid we won’t have news about our structural works until Monday, sorry we can’t reply to all individual tweets until we have more info.”
