Derby based punks Lightyear have been forced to scrap their forthcoming June tour after their bassist broke his wrist.
Barrs broke the limb whilst skateboarding in Luxembourg, ruling the lads out of action for some time.
However, the enforced time on the sidelines means that they can instead get writing for a future release coming your way soon.
Lil of Household Name Records told Punktastic: “Barrs the bass player broke his wrist skating on tour in Luxembourg. They had a mate stand in for the Suicide Machines dates, and he was really cool.
“That was ok cos it was a support tour but for headline shows they need to be at full strength. Barrs’ cast comes off around 15th june (i think), so they are taking the time to write the next release.”
But fear not Lightyear fans in Margate! They still play one show on 31st May – Margate Lido – with a stand in bass player.
Lil added: “They cancelled it once already and its a DIY show
that the organisers have a shitload of work into.”
However, the band are set to be part of a mammoth UK jaunt later in the summer, so check them out if you can.
