Kevin Devine and Jesse Lacey announce split 7″

By Glen Bushell

Kevin Devine’s next split release will be with Brand New vocalist Jesse Lacey. It is the sixth part in Devine’s ‘Devinyl’ series, which has seen the songwriter teaming up with a whole host of acts, including Meredith Graves, Tigers Jaw, and more.

Both artists will contribute covers of R.E.M tracks, with Devine taking on ‘Imitation Of Life’, and Lacey putting his spin on ‘Bad Day’. This isn’t the first time the pair have joined forces, and have been friends for some time. Most recently Lacey joined Devine for a cover of Nirvana’s ‘Lithium’, at a show in Philadelphia back in December.

The split will be released by Bad Timing Records on March 25th, and pre-order details are set to follow shortly.
