Guitarist Dickie Hammond (right) has passed away. Hammond played with a wealth of underground punk outfits, including Leatherface, H.D.Q., Angelic Upstarts, Doctor Bison, Generic, Stokoe, The Dipsomaniacs, The Jones, and Toy Dolls.
Although circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, Hammond has previously been admitted to hospital due to ill health in 2014.
Tributes for Dickie Hammond have appeared thick and fast, with many praising his expert guitar playing. “Richard Eric Hammond in my opinion was one of the best guitarists and song writers to come out of the UK and made some of my favourite records of all time. Doctor Bison and The Jones records are also classics. Nobody can play guitar quite like him,” Dan Goatham of Spoilers, 7 Day Conspiracy and Southport had to say.
