Friends In America share music video for ‘Scruffy’

By Glen Bushell

After unveiling the track yesterday, Friends In America have shared a video for their excellent new single, ‘Scruffy’.

“The winters of 2013 and 2014 bore witness to sheer vulnerability slamming against the communal resolve of all those impacted (both directly and otherwise) by the Clutha Helicopter Crash & Glasgow Bin Lorry Crash respectively,” says Mathew Rawlings of Friends In America. “Everyone I know experienced the same things. Phone calls from friends and family to make sure you’re okay, an entire population reconciling their own disbelief with a nagging sadness that this community was in itself not immune to cruel and unforeseeable circumstance. “Scruffy” is about my commutes through a place beside itself with grief, lit up with Christmas lights.”

The track is taken from the bands forthcoming album, ‘Old Indifference’, and the band will launch the single with a show at Broadcast in Glasgow on November 10th

Details of the show can be found at the Facebook event page, and you can check out the video for ‘Scruffy’ below.
