After reforming in 2011, Toronto-based duo Death From Above 1979 have confirmed the follow up to 2006’s ‘You’re A Woman, I’m A Machine’. In an interview with NME, the band announced their second album entitled ‘The Physical World’, due in September.
“No matter what Jesse and I do, on whatever scale of success it’s sat on, there’s always some kind of reference to Death From Above,” Sebastian Grainger states when speaking of the pressure in releasing a new album. “It’s only frustrating because it’s so lazy. So we’re putting out a Death From Above record and if the press is like, ‘It’s not what we expected,’ or however they react to it, it’s like, ‘Well, you’ve been fucking asking for it.'”
Produced by Oasis producer Dave Sardy, the duo have referred to one of the tracks as a cross between Bruce Springsteen and Sonic Youth.
