Blacklist Royals offer ‘Die Young With Me’ as free download

By Ben Tipple

Nashville based Blacklist Royals are offering the title track from their forthcoming record as a free download via SoundCloud. The track arrives ahead of their performances at Reading and Leeds Festival on the Lock Up Stage, and two headline shows in Manchester and Bristol.

“This was the one that started the entire writing process for this record, and it was the first song Rob [Rufus – who suffered from cancer aged 17] ever wrote about being sick,” band member Nat Rufus explains. “It’s a play on the “live fast, die young” sentiment, and how quickly everyone fades away when you’re faced with that as a reality, the loneliness of knowing you’re an unwelcome reminder to other people about their own mortality.”

Following Rob’s difficult recovery, the brothers moved to Nashville and formed Blacklist Royals, releasing their debut album ‘Semper Liberi’ in 2010.

‘Die Young With Me’ is scheduled for release on the 25th August.
