You may recognise Alcopop! Records from such news stories as “record label buys UKIP domain name,” “record label buys toilet cubicle in Wales,” and “record label release minutes of silence to reflect the vacuous space within Nigel Farage’s head.” Now, in their latest outing, the ever unconventional folks have teamed TV’s QI research team with Corey Taylor of Slipknot.
“QI is a global institution, and Alcopop! Records are proud to be bringing one of the jewels in the ‘Quite Interesting’ crown to vinyl for the first time,” the label announce on their website, detailing their ‘No Such Thing As A Fish’ LP release, including 52 bonus tracks.
The vinyl release will feature a previously unbroadcast feature-length episode of the award winning podcast, written and delivered by the research team behind the hit TV show. In addition, the record will contain all of the first 52 podcasts, plus a guest appearance from Slipknot vocalist Corey Taylor.
“Why are we doing this?” Alcopop! ask themselves. “Well, this is the first podcast to get the full rock star vinyl/merch/megatour treatment because, put simply, it’s the best one out there. The podcast revolution has been gathering pace since the sensational Serial hit the headlines last year, and this is the next step.”
