Unwritten Law – Live and Lawless

By paul

Back in their earlier days Unwritten Law were one of the best pop-punk bands around. Influencing the likes of Blink 182 (they cross-ref the band in ‘Josie’) and others, it’s hard to believe the band are now in their 18th year and actually older than some PT readers. Sadly as the years have gone by UL’s sound has been steadily watered down and their recent output has been pretty poor. But when the classics are rolled out such as ‘Teenage Suicide’ the band are in full flow and the band are extremely enjoyable.

This CD/DVD features 21 tracks in total and shows the band are tight, professional and very much enjoyable. The teens scream inbetween songs and that does go to prove how the band have gone poppier and poppier over the years, but overall this is a solid setlist and a good release for new and old fans. ‘Elva’, ‘Seein Red’ and ‘Callin” are all present and correct and that helps makes this a fun release.
