Tokyo Rose – New American Saint

By paul

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaawn. Man, this album is bland. Coming out on Side-Cho Records, Tokyo Rose have come out with an album which, although not bad musically, is so inoffensive it rots away your brain. Believe me, these songs aren’t that bad, they’re just dull. When I first listened to this album I actually fell asleep. Granted, I was really tired, but there was nothing here on several listens to grab me from my slumbers and wake me up.

For all their sleep-inducing tones, Tokyo Rose have a couple of pleasant songs. If you’re a fan of The Militia Group acts such as cartel or Copeland, then there’s a chance you’ll enjoy the delicate dulcet tones of Ryan Dominguez. Coming across like Coldplay or even U2 at times, there’s a definite shiny pop-rock edge to their songs. But for me it’s all a bit bland and dull. Tokyo Rose are probably a band that your dad would like to listen to on a lazy Sunday afternoon – I’ll stick to sleeping…
