The Wisers is a rock and roll band that has been around since late 2007 and based in Italy. Initially inspired by old school punk pop and 60s powerpop, the band themselves claim to have “kept on continously evolving through line up changes and musical experiments”. In reality this is a pretty good melodic rock record that doesn’t do too much new, but does exactly what you would like and expect. ‘Elephants and Swans’ is a bit of a waste at the end, a short acoustic track that never really gets going, but the rest is worth a listen. ‘Walking On Ice’, in particular, is a good little song with a strong vocal and riff. You can grab this from bandcamp for free and it’s certainly worth a listen.
