The Sketch are pretty good. Granted they’re not what I listen to for fun at all, but they’re good nonetheless. Self-confessed fans of the likes of The Cure, Bloc Party, Fugazi, early U2, Gang of Four, Forward Russia, Queens Of The Stone Age, Interpol and Biffy Clyro, The Sketch‘s sound is steeped in indie-rock with driving guitars and some poppy vocals the order of the day. And they do it all to a good standard – ‘Taking Control’ is the highlight as it’s the song with the best recording, but in each of the four songs the band have everything in the right place, even if it’s not always carried off to the standard they may expect to reach. Either way, if you’re a fan of any of the bands listed above, give The Sketch a whirl.
