The Quarry – We, The Disease

By Tom Aylott

You like a shit tonne of riffs don’t you? Well, of course you do. THE QUARRY‘s ‘We, The Disease’ has been some time in the making, and although there’s a certain hint of the nerd-metal about it, the band have their sound nailed down in each of the four tracks.

Despite the fact that it’s crammed with riffs, they never seem to outstay their welcome, and despite the fact that most of the guitar work will have been meticulously constructed, it all flows together very well.

Hardcore may be the “in vogue” genre of heavy music at the moment, but THE QUARRY‘s thrash elements are prominent enough to draw the change picker uppers in, even if a few of the pinch harmonics may go over their heads.

In any case, ‘We, The Disease’ is a solid EP, and well worth checking out for anyone that considers themselves into heavy music. It may not quite be for everyone, but there’s no doubt that the work put in and the execution are excellent.
