Maybe it’s just me, but at times ‘You!’ sounds horrendously out of time. The opening 45 seconds or so of ‘Jail Bait‘ sound like a complete and utter mess and while the band are clearly doing their best to be loud, fast and proud it’s sadly at the expensive of a quality recording. It does detract from the overall listening quality, I can’t lie, but the band, in places, suggest they have enough about them to be a fun live band. ’50/50 Dicey City‘ showcases a few different genres and suggests their mixed-up punk sound could well develop in the future into something unique and listenable. On the basis of this record though, The Human Targets still have some way to go.
