I shall keep this brief. Tellison are a quirky accent away from blowing up like The Wombats; they have that indie cool and sense of melody that begs to be played on the big screens in Top Shop and it’s a bit criminal really that isn’t happening already (especially bearing in mind some of the dross that gets played in that shop). ‘Wasp’s Nest’ is further proof of a band growing at an alarming rate of knots and suggests we’ll be hearing a lot more of them soon – or at least we should be. Tubelord have a lot to live up to and almost pull it off as ‘Night of the Pencils’ is a punchy little number with a cracking vocal melody. I’ve found this track in particular to sound all the sweeter on a long drive, it made me want to break the speeding limit constantly. Bizarre.
The conclusion – two of the UK’s brightest hopes on one piece of wax. Purchase and play and enlighten your life.
