This EP is a bit hit and miss for me. In places it’s excellent; the energy and drive on ‘Columbo Likes The Nightlife’ sticks out a mile as the band play off two and three way vocal harmonies and some driving riffs. It’s easily the best song on the album and makes me wonder why, over the course of five songs, they can’t do it consistently. Instead tracks like ‘Sodium Glycerophosphate’ fail to hit the mark. Taking Chase are at their best when they’re punchy, sharp and to the point. The vocals prove they can do it, what the band need to do is do it on a more consistent basis.
