Suffocate Faster have been getting a lot of press recently and it’s pretty much for one reason. That reason is who owns their label, Broken Sounds, not because Suffocate Faster are particularly good. You see, Broken Sounds is the label owned by New Found Glory‘s Chad Gilbert and Ian Gruska, and this is one of the label’s first signings. So confident of its success (probably on the back of the NFG connections), Kung Fu have licenced this record for release in Europe. I’m not sure why they’ve bothered.
‘Only Time Will Tell’ is just rank bad hardcore – the production is flat, the songs uninspiring and the vocals bark more than next door’s dog. And next door’s dog is a poodle, not a rottweiler, if you catch my drift. Let’s put it this way, the last Atreyu album has more about it than this record – and that’s saying something. So Messrs Gilbert and Grushka, back to the drawing board. ‘Cos frankly, this is a really broken sound…
