Stuck In Conflict – Embers Glow

By paul

I don’t take great pleasure in slagging bands off, but I guess when you send a review in you want an honest opinion. ‘Embers Glow’, sadly, is absolutely awful. It’s a total mess – whoever produced this and mixed it should really give the band a refund. It’s awful. Maybe the band would be better if they’d recorded with someone who knew what they’re doing so I’d be willing to give them a chance again. But sack whichever idiot recorded this piece of crap.

Why am I being so harsh? Just listen – the mixing is terrible. The vocals too high, the synth too loud, where are the guitars? ‘Heartfelt’ is just an absolute mess. The synth is totally out of place and way too high in the mix, the guitars sound non-existent and the vocals are way off too. Lyrically the band are just terrible, the song literally repeats the same words over and over again in a different key. It’s just abysmal. And unfortunately this repeats on every single song. ‘Wearing Black’ is every bit as bad – I can actually picture the vocalist doing air grabs as he bellows, off key, throughout the ‘let’s change ourselves tonight’ bit he repeats over and OVER and OVER again.

Stuck In Conflict need to refine their songwriting, ditch the synth and record with someone who knows what they are doing. Other than that they’re just great…
