Spermbirds – Something To Prove/Nothing Is Easy

By paul

Although it’s 30 songs long, this record is very easy to sum up. Originally released in 1986, Boss Tuneage has dug this from the archives and given it a re-release. It’s your typical old-school punk record really, plenty of singalong parts buried deep below waves of distorted guitars and shouty vocals. There’s elements of early Descendents here and while what The Spermbirds do here has become dated, you can easily pick out elements that remain used today. If you’re a fan of old-skool punk bands, this is extremely good value for money with live tracks thrown alongside both the bands albums. Not something I would usually go out and buy, but pretty god nonetheless.
