Someday Never – The Natural Trend Of Breathing

By paul

Listened to the new Over It material and thought the band were going a bit soft? Then let ‘Note To Self’ rip through your speakers and I swear you’ll even forget the band exist. Usually unsolicited emails asking me to listen to a band end in disaster, but if there’s ever proof in the pudding of listening to everything we sent, this is it. Someday Never don’t reinvent the wheel, but ‘The Natural Trend Of Breathing’ is excellent. It’s fast, melodic skate punk with plenty of riffs peeled off and many vocal harmonies. In short, in the space of seven tracks I’m left wondering if we’ve come across a new Punktastic favourite.

All of the seven songs here are good – two or three, mind, are superb. The aforementioned ‘Note To Self’ literally shreds. The vocal melodies and ‘woahs’ are just out of this world – this is the best song Over It have never written and would fit rather snugly onto ‘Timing Is Everything’. While this track is possibly the best, the others are pretty hot too. The title track has a similar frentic pace, while the slower ‘White Noise’ still has plenty of singalong moments. If you like your melodic, poppy skate-punk, then you will love this band. Go check them out now!
