Released on Hellcat, you know what this is going to sound like before you even put it on your stereo. And yes, they are influenced by Rancid. Pissed off skate punk played at 100mph, Societys Parasites aren’t too bad a band at all. There’s little range in what they do – but then in my opinion there never is with Hellcat bands – so over the course of 15 songs their tried and tested formula does begin to grate and sound very familiar. That said, the band are aggressive, passionate and spit their message from every pore and you can never knock a band for doing something they really believe in. Fans of the genre will love this, but it’s a little too samey over the course of a full album for me.
