Skyway peddle mosh-pop-punk (urgh, I hate that term, but it’s so apt). Think New Found Glory at their sketchiest (vocals) or Set Your Goals at their most straightforward (music) and you’ve pretty much nailed Skyway down.
There isn’t anything here that breaks new ground, but it’s not totally otiose – B.L.T.N is a great track from start to end, with a chorus that made me want to swing about. Oddly enough, it’s the least poppy track here, and stands out not just for it’s quality, but because it sounds like they’re really letting go. At times some of the more poppy elements sound forced – and this track just underlines that.
The rest of the 11 tracks on here sort of melt into a poppy mush, full of bro’mance (“I’m at my best when I’m with my friends” – Moments), the odd gang vocal and positivity (Open Your Eyes).
It’s totally inoffensive, fun in places, but all a little… forgettable.
