Skyline By Lake Sunshine – Dangerous Lullaby Melts Away Her Escape

By paul

Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind. It’s not always nice being unpleasant to bands, but the only advice I can give Skyline By Lake Sunshine is to stop making music. ‘Dangerous Lullaby Melts Away Her Escape’ is an absolute abomination of a demo, complete with awful vocals, some of the most inappropriate drum patterns ever and guitars which are so low in the mix you can barely hear them. This EP is so bad it’s difficult to know where on Earth to start offering advice. ‘Kiss Me, Kill Me’ has no tune at all, while ‘Footsteps In The Snow’ is just noise with some shouting over the top.

Dissect this record and there are problems everywhere. The vocals are terrible. Surely this chap must have a friend who could point this out in a polite way. ‘Sunshine Avenue’ is particularly tuneless – I don’t think there’s a single note that is hit. Infact, the more I listen to this the more inclined I am to thinking this is really a joke band who have put together the worst songs in history and sent it in for a laugh. I’m really sorry, I’m sure someone put their hearts and soul into this EP, but it’s bloody awful. My best advice is just to simply say ‘give up’.
