I’m not sure why I’m reviewing this CD, but I know it isn’t going to be pleasant. I have done the rituals of listening through it, making notes, the usual preparatory stuff when getting ready to judge a piece of music, yet I still don’t know why I’m bothering. You see, Six Reason to Kill are metal. Not punk, not hardcore, just straight up, metal music for metal people. And as you may have guessed, metal websites. I have a fairly open mind to any type of music that crosses the Punktastic doormat, but unfortunately this doesn’t cut it in the slightest. I love Hardcore for its frenzied pace, intensity and energy, but Six Reasons to Kill are just straight out thrash, screams, blood and thunder, which isn’t my cup of tea and proves the albums downfall. It has little variety and proves one drawn out, noise ridden mess of a CD.
I have given ‘Reasons’ a fair crack, but after repeated attempts to listen to it and judge the 42 minutes, my mind had become jellied and the time had come to write this, but the experience is so unsatisfying you can’t help but wonder why you bothered. If you like metal, undoubtedly you will love this. If you don’t, steer clear. It is as simple as that, and that ladies and gentleman is my verdict. To me the whole thing sounds the same, which is why it fails so badly in all departments. All hate can be forwarded to jay@punktastic.com and I fully expect it to after some of the shit I have been on the end of in the last month. Now fetch me my triple bass pedal.
