South African ska-punk…apart from Leek and the Bouncing Uptones I don’t think I’ve heard of another band of that type from that part of the world. Sibling Rivalry swap from Less Than Jake to NoComply in a matter of seconds, with screaming piercing your ear drums one second, only to find a nice sax-fueled riff awaiting you on the next track. ‘Paul Stole Our Bandroom’, for instance, shouts and screams, while ‘Their Winning’ (sic) is much more like LTJ. In truth the band often come across like one with a split personality – not catchy enough to be like Roger and co, not powerful enough to match one of the more agressive bands. In truth, this record just didn’t hold my interest for long enough and as a result I found myself heading for the skip button all too often…
