Show Your Stripes – 2007 EP

By paul

Born from the ashes of such bands as Never So true, the Lifetime-influenced Show Your Stripes are pretty encouraging prospects. Although they claim to be a speeded up Jawbreaker, they’re a lot more poppy than Blake and co. That’s no bad thing as the band race through several songs on this debut EP at lightning fast speed. There’s melodies, riffs, hard hitting drums – to be honest it’s all here if you like the genre of music. And a lot of it is done in less than 2 minutes, meaning it never outstays it’s welcome. Although they’re far from the finished article, the songs here are pretty damn good and played with energy and enthusiasm. Good things could be round the corner.
