When BSM snapped up Shapes I wasn’t in the slightest bit surprised. A perfect fit for one of the UK’s premier indie labels, the Brummie boys make a hell of a din for a three-piece and are a bit like a less psychotic version of Blakfish. Although try to take that sentence in during the latter stages of the second song on this EP when everything just goes bonkers and you’ll understand how weird and wonderful this band are.
‘Our Children’s Children’ features some of the best guitar work this side of the last Muse record, while the pace and rythmn of ‘Such Stoics’ will surely make it a live favourite. I always seem to end up writing the same things about BSM releases such is the high standards they set themselves and this record is no different. For those who enjoyed Shapes‘ last demo, you’re in for a treat. For anyone else looking for a band with energy, passion, enthusiasm and a naughty streak…well look no further.
