Scream Out Loud – Live It Up

By Tom Aylott

Having built up a strong following through tours with bands such as THURSDAY and FOUR YEAR STRONG, this debut album from Florida natives SCREAM OUT LOUD has been somewhat anticipated in the States, though they have yet to make an impact over here.

Is that all due to change with this album? Ish. Though it has some glimmers of hope – ‘It’s Funny They Can’t See Us From Here’ is a really lovely interlude and welcome break from the clean/scream vocals and post-hardcore musical meanderings of the other tracks – ‘Live It Up’ is a decidedly average release, albeit a listenable one. Talent is obviously here in spades but creativity is sadly missing. Maybe touring further and wider can fix that.
